Toyota Celica is a rear wheel drive sports car sold in the United States from 1970 until 2005. The 4 cylinder 2.0-liter engine produced 90 hp. Latin for “of the heavens”, the 1970 Celica had a MSRP of under $3000.00. Toyota sold a million units by 1977. The Toyota Celica won many awards including: Car of the year, best sports coupe, top ten best cars, most reliable used car and more. In 1985 the Celica changed from rear wheel to front wheel drive. Although 2005 was the last year for Celica in the United States, the nameplate was retired in Japan in 2006.
